Life is still great here in California. The weather is amazing – we’ve had several weekends with 30+ degrees. It’s sunny almost every day. The food is great, the people are great and business is doing really great. Seems like we might be closing in on some deals soon – and that’s why I’m here. Work is mostly spent on trying to find the right people to talk to, try to get meetings, try to get introductions, prepare for meetings, have meetings, and follow-up on meetings. I’ve met lots of great people these weeks, and know I’m gonna meet a lot more!
The one thing I don’t have much time for is this blog, but I’ll try to update it now and then. And maybe even write one of the posts I have planned about being an entrepreneur, and my work experiences here. Until then, it will mostly be picture updates of what I do when I don’t work.
Got a tasting menu. Definitely not that into sours, or too hoppy beers. But the rest was really good! The day after we went to berkeley marina. Beautiful weather, and got to see the last of the Fleet week air show. The Berkley pier there is 1 km long, and used to be 4 (!) km long.
View of San Francisco from the pier.
Mid-week I went to a concert at the Independent, to see Sondre Lerche. The show was super, he’s so energetic live!
Death from above 1979 is playing there soon, but it’s all sold out..
I’m being un-authentpic with this filtered image. Shame on me. And, speaking of authenpic: We didn’t manage to reach our fundraising goals on Kickstarter. One of the reasons is that while we only need around $5000 to get this up and running for now, we needed to raise $20,000 on Kickstarter due to fees, and the fact that people would get the product as well.
What we did manage to do is to create a lot of excitement about the idea, a good deal of press. People have been reaching out to us, and we have one person that will invest in the company, as well as another one that will join the team to help build and scale. We have a fan base of people already, loving the idea and the message we have. So: authenpic is happening! Hopefully we’ll have it ready this year.
The best commercial I’ve seen so far! This week is Salesforce’s big Dreamforce event, with over 150,000 people attending. That means 150,000 people blocking traffic when being bussed around. Made me late for work yesterday, took me forever to get home, and late to work again today. Hopefully they won’t make me late for the movies, going to see Gone girl tonight.
So life is still good, and I’m happy.
